Ma ei tea, mitu korda ma olen mõelnud autokooli minna ja mitu korda olen ma ennast sinna isegi registreerinud, aga alustanud ma sellega veel ei olnud. Kogu aeg tuli midagi vahele ja no teate küll mind ja mu nullilähedast järjepidevust. Aga nüüd kirjutati mulle Autosõit OÜ’st, et kaua ma ikka munen ja et ma võiks ikka nende kampa astuda ja endale load ära teha. Nad ise vist nii kindlad enda heas autokoolis, et lausa garanteerisid, et ma lõpuks load saan. No eks näis. Kuna aga pakkumine oli tõesti ahvatlev ja nende poolt kingitusena täismäng – alates siis teooriast, kahekümnest sõidutunnist, libedakoolitusest ja pimedakoolituseni välja, tundus imelik säärasele pakkumisele ei öelda. Mis siis, et ma vannun, käsi südamel, et saame küll autota hakkama, aga ega load ei kohusta ju kohe autot ostma ja no ei tea, võib-olla pean lõpuks enda sõnu sööma ja sõidan ainult autoga ringi? Eks näis.
Grupp ise oli selline pisike ja teooriaõpetaja tundus ka hästi muhe mees. Ma ei oska öelda, kas teda saab sõiduõpetajaks ka valida, sest ma olen oma autokoolile mõeldud tervisetõendi ära kaotanud ja ei saa seetõttu veel enne arsti käest andmete saamist ennast sõidutundidesse regada, aga loodan küll, et saab teda ka. Tundus selline hea ja rahulik õpetaja. Kui ma kunagi käisin, siis esimene õpetaja oli mingi ühe jalaga hauas vanamees, kes “kogemata” kogu aeg kintsu näppis ja peale teda üks naisterahvas, kellega sõidutunnid olid tema asjaajamiste tegemine. Ala tõime ta lapse lasteaiast ja käisime sukapükse ostmas jne. Mõni ime, et ma kunagi sõitma ei õppinud, kui ma enamuse ajast kuskil parklas teda ootasin.
Mul “omal ajal” ei olnud autokoolil e-kooli ka. Nüüd on. Sealt saab näha, mis tunnis tehtud sai ja üldse on seal kõiksugune info olemas. Saad ennast sõidtundidesse regada ja teste teha jne. Tundub päris asjalik värk.
Meil oli eile peale esimest teooriatundi ka esimene tunnikontroll, kus oli viis küsimust. Igale küsimusele pidi vastama õigesti (võis olla ka mitu õiget vastust, ühe õige vastuse korral ei olnud ikkagi terve vastus õige). Ma sain neli punkti, aga ega keegi teine ka maksimumi ei saanud, seega võib enda esimese tunniga päris rahul olla.
Kuigi kui ma ausalt ütlen, siis lappasin neid liiklusteste ja liiklusseadustega täidetud raamatut ja mõtlesin, et see oleks ikka puhta IME, kui ma load saaksin. See kõik tundub mingi täielik tuumateadus ja ma ei kujuta ette, kuidas ma endale need miljon testi ja seadust pähe õppima peaksin?!
Tunnis ütlesin ka kohe ära, et mina isiklikult soovin teha automaadilube. Ei, mitte automaatrelva, vaid automaatkäigukastiga. Ma lihtsalt mäletan, et ma ei saanud selle paganama manuaaliga ÜLDSE hakkama ja kui on võimalus oma elu mugavamaks teha, siis mida ma rapsin endale neid manuaalilube teha, sest “muidupole päris load”. No kui ei ole siis ei ole, suva ju. Mul pole praegu ka ÜLDSE lube ja keegi pole veel siiani tänaval peksa andma tulnud, et ma niii mõttetu lubadeta vend olen. Loodan, et automaadilubadega läheb sama hästi. Ma muidugi esimene kord võin PROOVIDA manuaaliga ka, aga ma olen üsna kindel, et ma ei saa sellega hakkama ja lähen kohe, saba jalge vahel, automaadi peale tagasi.
Kuigi ma ei saa aru, mis häda on inimestel seda manuaali peale suruda, nagu oleks nende enda elu kuidagi kaalul.
“Aga kui on elu ja surma küsimus ja ainukene variant surev sõber metsast välja saada on manuaalkäigukastiga auto?!”
Imelikul kombel olen ma terve elu suutnud sellist laialt levinud probleemi kuidagi vältida, aga olgem ausad, kui mul sõber metsa sureks ja AINUKENE variant oleks sealt välja saada manuaalkäigukastiga autoga, siis ma istuks praegu ka sinna rooli ja saaks ta KUIDAGI haiglasse. Vaevalt, et ma sellises olukorras surija kätt silitaks ja ütleks: “Sorri, oleks mul vaid manuaali load, aga ei ole… Mine rahumeeli valgusesse sõbrake…”.
“Aga kui sulle tööl antakse manuaal ja kui sa sellega sõita ei oska siis ei saagi autot!”
No… arvestades, et ma ise enda tööandja olen, siis ma proovin siiski endale pigem MITTE manuaaliga autot anda.
Üldse tekib mul vahepeal tunne, et kõik, kellega ma räägin, tegelevad VÄHEMALT manuaalide müügiga, et nii hingest ja südamest seda promovad. Selles suhtes, et kas meil kõigil ei võiks teoorias olla selliseid lube ja selline auto, nagu ta tahab? Minu puhul on üldse mingisugused load ja üldse mingisugunegi auto juba edasiminek elus :D

I don’t even know how many times I have thought about going to driver’s school and how many times I have even registered myself to go, but I have not started yet. Something always got in the way and well you know me and my close to zero consistency. But now I got a letter from Autosõit OÜ, telling me to stop procrastinating, join their gang and get my license. They must be very confident about their good school, because they guaranteed I would get my license eventually. We shall see. Because the offer was truly tempting and they are giving me everything from theory lessons, twenty hours of driving, driving with slippery roads and driving in the dark training lessons, it seemed weird saying no to such offer. Doesn’t matter that I swear we can manage just fine without a car, but a license doesn’t obligate us to get a car right away and well, you never know, I might have to eat my words and will someday driving around in a car? We’ll see.
The group itself is small and the theory teacher seemed like a mellow guy. I don’t know if I can request him to be my driving instructor too, because I have lost the medical certificate necessary, so I can’t register myself to any driving lessons before I go to the doctor, but I hope I can get him. He seemed like a good and calm instructor. When I took some lessons some time ago, my first teacher was an age-old man who kept touching my thighs “by accident” and after him I had a women instructor, whose driving lessons were just running her errands. A ‘la we picked up her kid of daycare or went shopping for pantyhose. No wonder I didn’t learn to drive when I was waiting for her in a parking lot most of the time.
“Back in my day” Driver’s schools didn’t have an online school either. Now they do. You can see what the topics of a lesson were and it has all kinds of information. You can register for driving lessons, take tests etc. Seems legit.
After the first lesson yesterday we had to take a pop-quiz that had 5 questions. You had to get every question right (there could be more than 1 correct answer, and picking just one of the correct answers didn’t make the whole answer correct) I got 4 points, but no one got maximum points, so I consider the first lesson a success.
If I am completely honest, I was browsing through the tests and the book containing the traffic laws and it would be a MIRACLE if I actually got my license. It seems like complete rocket science and I have no idea how I could ever learn these million tests and laws?!
In the lesson I made it clear I wanted to have the license only for an automatic. No, not for an automatic weapon, an automatic transmission. I just remember I COULD NOT handle the manual gearbox and if there’s a way to make my life more convenient, why should I work harder for a manual license, because automatic “are not real licenses” . Well, if they are not, they are not, what do I care. Currently I have NO license and no one had beat me up for being a pointless licenseless dude. I hope it will be as good with the manual transmission license. Of course I can TRY a manual transmission in my first lesson, but I am almost certain I won’t be able to handle it and will turn back to automatic with my tale between my legs.
Although I don’t understand why people are so pushy with the manual license, like their lives depended on it.
“But if it’s a life or death situation and the only way to get your dying friend out of the woods would be to drive a manual transmission car?!”
It seems weird but I have managed to avoid this very widely spread problem in my life so far, but lets be honest, if my friend was dying in the woods and the ONLY way to get out would be to drive a stick, I would get behind the wheel even now and get them to a hospital SOMEHOW. I don’t think I would pet their head and say “Sorry, I wish I had a license to drive a manual gearbox, but I don’t… go into the light, poor friend…”
“What if you are given a company car that is a stick shift and if you don’t know how to drive it you don’t get a car at all?”
Seeing how I am my own employer, I will try NOT to give myself a car with a manual transmission.
I feel like everyone I talk to are AT LEAST a manual gearbox salesperson so they are promoting it with their heart and soul. I mean in theory couldn’t everyone just have the type of license and car they want? Any type of license and some kind of a car would already be a progress in my life :D

PS! If someone thought I don’t know then let me assure you I AM AWARE YOU CANNOT DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR WITH AN AUTOMATIC GEARBOX LICENSE. I DON’T WISH TO DRIVE MANUAL. :D
